About the event

Discover the fascinating lives of bats at this evening bat exploration at Pierrepont Farm.  With the help of experts from Surrey Bat Group, you’ll learn about their fascinating lives. Using bat detectors, we’ll take a short walk and listen to them echo-locating over the trees and along the hedgerows, seeking out moths and insects for their supper.

We will gather together as the sun sets for a quick introduction by Chris, from Surrey Bat Group. He'll show everyone how to use your bat detectors (one between two) and explain how bats use echo-location to find their prey in the dark. Then we'll head off for a short walk to see which species we can discover!
