Enjoy a relaxed and fun day developing your collage skills in the idyllic setting of Bere Marsh Farm.

Led by Deb Chisman, this workshop will let nature be your inspiration to build your own collage.

We will start with a guided nature walk by the CRT’s Community Engagement Manager and wildlife enthusiast - Nick Dobbs. The walk will incorporate an exclusive visit to the Angela Hughes Nature Reserve. In a relaxed, social atmosphere, we will aim to collect some additional natural artefacts to help create a unique print design.

Returning to the rustic setting of the Threshing Barn, we will enjoy a complimentary tea or coffee and pastry or cake from The Buzz Café. Deb will then expertly guides you through creating unique print designs using natural materials provided and collected on the walk.

Grab a drink and bite at the Buzz Cafe

We’ll then break for lunch where guests can choose to bring their own pack lunch or alternatively purchase wonderful homemade fare from The Buzz Café in the barn.

The Buzz Cafe will be open during and after the event, selling delicious locally sourced sweet treats, drinks, hot savouries and ice cream.

Creating your barn owl collage
After lunch, Deb will provide a template artwork of a barn owl as the subject for creating the collage using the prints designed in the morning.

By the end of the day, you'll have gained valuable skills and knowledge to continue your creative collage journey. Take home your collage as a memento of this memorable day.

About Deb Chisman

"Hello, I’m Deb. As an experimental mixed media artist my passion lies in the natural world, the forms and textures of the landscape, the wonder of wildlife and the rhythm of the seasons.

I have been involved in community-based art for over 25 years in youth centres, adult education and for the Workers Educational Association.

As a tutor the continuing joy for me lies in watching students grow in confidence and delight in what they have created individually and as a group, it is a real privilege to be part of the process.

I firmly believe that being out in nature and experiencing the world using all our senses is an intrinsic part of the creative process. Inspiration is always in abundance at Bere Marsh Farm which is just down the road from my home in the Dorset village of Marnhull where I run regular art classes and workshops."
