Activity Adventures at Pierrepont Farm

CRT’s MOSAIC Education is offering four activities for your colony or pack!

Explore the farm, get building with camp craft, learn how to navigate and learn about the exciting wildlife.

Pierrepont Farm is a dairy farm boasting an award-winning pedigree herd of Jersey cows and a state-of-the-art dairy, complete with robot milking parlour. In addition to extensive pasture, the farm is home to a thriving wildlife pond and extensive wooded area full of wildlife trails and a hide to spot all the creatures that live on the farm!

We are covid-19 safety-compliant!

• We have carried out a Covid 19 Risk Assessment.
• We have cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in place in line with guidance.
• We have taken all reasonable steps to maintain a 2m (or 1m with additional precautions) distance between participants during activities.

Beaver Activity Badges

Camp Craft

Work as a team to create a camp in the woods. Build a den using wood, ropes and tarpaulin and hunt for firewood. Help to build a fire and enjoy a simple snack cooked al fresco.

Explore

Explore Pierrepont Farm and find out what creatures great and small live there.Become a leaf detective and discover what’s hiding under the leaf litter in the woods. Meet some Jersey cows and find out how they’re milked.

Cubs Activity Badges

Naturalist

Visit Pierrepont Farm and learn all about the wildlife that lives there. Find out how to identify creatures and plants and unearth some fantastic facts about them. Get arty and make an animal collage from leaves or create a flower fairy from petals.

Navigator

Can you navigate your way around our farm trail with just a map and compass? By using your navigation skills correctly you’ll successfully locate our activity stations each containing a farming or wildlife challenge. By completing the challenges you’ll not only have great fun but learn lots along the way.

What We Do

The CRT promotes nature-friendly farming to help reverse biodiversity decline and combat climate change. We believe nature is integral to good farming and we protect, promote and regenerate our land and all life on it. We put our philosophy into practice on over 2,000 acres of working farms, small-holdings and woodland across England.
Slow-worms – the gardener’s best friend

The UK has 6 native reptile species including the curious slow-worm (Anguis fragilis). Although serpent-like in appearance, slow-worms are in fact limbless lizards and an amazing example of de-evolution.
