We're launching our first virtual CRT Village Show from 15 June - 29th August 2020.

Unfortunately this year, we had to cancel all CRT farm open days, so we wanted to find a different way to bring new and existing CRT Friends together and raise money for the charity.

Village shows play an important role in bringing rural communities of all ages together, to socialise and celebrate local produce. It seemed the perfect solution to combine the ethos of these traditional, countryside events with how farming, food and nature are shown to work in harmony online.

Our farm open days and show attendances are a useful way to raise awareness but also raise money. The CRT Village Show aims to raise £5000 to cover the lack of donations due to the lockdown restrictions.

The show is a series of free online competitions and activities the whole family can enjoy throughout the summer on our brand new website. It is free to join and open to everyone, and has many competitions anyone can enter, including a wildlife photography competition from 22 June 2020.

To help you keep the children entertained the Discover and Learn tent is full of stimulating activities and videos that encourage children to learn how food, farming and wildlife are connected, that adults will also enjoy. The education team have put together engaging activities to try at home, such as making a fairy garden, nature cuffs and egg head planters.

Our wonderful farmers are recording video diaries of life on our farms, where you can meet their lambs, calves and wildlife living in crops.

Female BlackbirdDr Vince Lea, head of wildlife monitoring is updating the wonderful wildlife blog updates all about nature living on the farms. Plus,

Some of the rural artisan businesses associated with the CRT are also offering exclusive discounts for you to take advantage of!

For many, lockdown is for the foreseeable future and the CRT wants to continue to bring people together and provide sparks of joy and happiness through the CRT Village Show.

We hope it allows some escapism from the current uncertainty in life, and we look forward to bringing the wonders of farming and nature to you to enjoy!
