We would like to clarify the situation relating to Robin Page’s tenancy at Warners Corner in Barton, Cambridgeshire, to correct any misunderstandings resulting from reports on social media.

The Countryside Restoration Trust has given Robin Page a 12-month notice that his tenancy agreement will end on 31 May 2023, in accordance with our standard procedures. As a landlord, we have a responsibility to ensure that tenants are managing our land appropriately, in consultation with the charity, and in line with our remit to promote sustainable farming practices and to encourage biodiversity. We also have a responsibility to ensure that they do not fall too far into rent arrears.

Following an extensive report on all CRT landholdings by independent qualified land agents, we will outline our plans for the land in due course, which will embrace a long-term vision to benefit the charity, focused on conservation-friendly farming and connecting the local community more closely to the environment.

We would like to make clear that the notice given on Warners Corner does not affect Robin Page’s living arrangements as his property is on a separate site and owned by him not the CRT.
