Co-Founder

Robin Page established the Countryside Restoration Trust in 1993 and dedicated the next 27 years of his life to it. Born and bred in Barton, Cambridgeshire, Robin launched CRT in response to growing concerns about intensive, industrialised farming and its impact on wildlife.

He is also known for presenting the BBC TV show, One Man and His Dog and his infamous columns in The Telegraph newspaper. He still often writes articles for print publications such as The Lady.

Robin is the author of 33 books. In 2019, Robin released the 45^th anniversary edition of The Decline of an English Village.

Life saving kit for community

Tools empower people

Farmland bird remain among the most threatened species in this country and their decline is nothing short of cataclysmic. Intensive agriculture has contributed to habitat loss, but at Lark Rise in Cambridgeshire our nature-friendly approach to farming and supplementary feeding over winter have helped ensure we buck many national statistics for farmland birds.

Slow-worms – the gardener’s best friend

The UK has 6 native reptile species including the curious slow-worm (Anguis fragilis). Although serpent-like in appearance, slow-worms are in fact limbless lizards and an amazing example of de-evolution.
