Life-saving defibrillator for Bere Marsh Farm

The CRT prides itself on being part of the community surrounding our farms. These communities make up the majority of our Friends and volunteers. In times of need, a community comes together to support one another. We are reaching out to you with a vital request that could make a life-saving difference to visitors at our beloved Bere Marsh Farm. We urgently need your help to purchase a defibrillator, a device that can mean the difference between life and death during a sudden cardiac emergency.

Imagine a scenario where a member of our community, perhaps a volunteer, a visitor, or neighbour, experiences a sudden cardiac arrest while on the farm, or using the North Dorset Trailway. At this critical moment, time is of the essence, and having a defibrillator readily available could significantly increase the chances of survival.

A defibrillator is a portable electronic device that can deliver an electric shock to the heart to restore normal rhythm in cases of sudden cardiac arrest. With proper training, anyone can use a defibrillator to save a life, and its presence on our farm could make all the difference when every second counts.

We are determined to create a safer environment for all who use our farm, and your support will play a crucial role in achieving this goal. Let's work together to make our community even stronger, safer, and more vibrant.

We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone in our community. However, we need your support to make this important addition to our farm a reality. The cost of a defibrillator, is over £1,500. There will be additional costs for the necessary training and maintenance. It is substantial investment, and we cannot do it without your generosity.

The CRT cares for all living things on our farms: birds, insects, plants, farm animals but also our human visitors. We look after them so they can look after us.

Your donation is being made to the CRT's Twelve Gifts of Christmas fund. The CRT will endeavour to put your donation towards the appeal you select, but the funds will be prioritised according to the greatest need. The CRT will try to ensure that all the items within the 12 appeals are purchased, but if an appeal's target is not met or exceeded the funds could be diverted to another appeal to achieve the greatest benefit for wildlife and people on our farms.
