Explore Somerset's beautiful Meadow Trail Walks and support conservation If you find yourself in Somerset, we have the perfect activity for you! Come and visit Meadow Trail Walks, giving visitors a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty and biodiversity of the farm. In a most generous gesture, they have kindly offered to donate all funds raised during this period to the CRT. Located at Lyndeard Farm in Bishops Lydeard, Somerset, the farm is owned by Tom and Tara Morris, fifth-generation farmers and lifelong Friends of the CRT. Together, they have led the farm's transition to organic dairy production, championing nature-friendly farming alongside community-focused businesses. Over the years, they have successfully transitioned the farm to organic dairy production while embracing nature-friendly farming practices. As part of this work, Tom has transformed areas of grazing pasture into beautiful species-rich meadows, now alive with native wildflowers, grasses, butterflies, dragonflies and birds. Until the end of July, visitors are invited to explore these beautiful meadows on a guided trail walk and enjoy a delicious treat in the farm café afterwards. The meadows cover approximately six acres and are managed using traditional methods: Grazed by livestock during spring and autumn Cut for hay at the end of summer Managed to encourage native flowers, insects and wildlife The ponds, originally dug in the 1980s, have become important habitats for birds, aquatic life and insects. Whether you're a nature lover, keen walker or simply looking for a relaxing day out in the Somerset countryside, Meadow Trail Walks offers a unique chance to discover the rich wildlife that thrives alongside sustainable farming.
